PORTLAND STYLE FISHING CREEL, LEATHER This is a 15” wide Portland style creel reinforced with leather, including the half leather top, which is a diagnostic characteristic of the style. Very clean creel.  No maker’s name. The first creels in this style were made in Portland, Oregon, by John Clark in the 1890s. Comes with a fabric shoulder strap, or “harness.” The harness was possibly original to the creel, although the harnesses were sold separately. Condition is excellent.
