ABOUT THIS PRODUCT The Chair Lateral Supports are designed to help stop people leaning forward, or to the side, without applying a full restraint. The foam Supports are fitted to the wheelchair with one on each side. There are two connecting straps that are done up around the back of the chair. They are primarily designed to use on wheelchairs, but they may be suitable for some other chairs. The Supports are made from a firm foam, with convolutions on the curved top. This is to help prevent a pressure sore under the arm pit, if the person is resting on this section. WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT? The Chair Lateral Supports are suitable for people who need lateral support or fall sideways when sitting down in a chair or wheelchair. HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT Place the two Supports inside the arm rests on the wheelchair. Place the two connecting straps around the back of the chair. After the person has sat down, raise the Supports up so they are just under the armpits and the arms are on the outside so that if they lean forward, the raised curve section will help prevent them leaning too far. When the person needs to stand up, the Supports can be loosened off or removed from the chair to allow the person to lean forward during the standing process.
